Summer Is Almost Here!--Time For Summer Camp!

Summer is almost here and it's time to start looking into summer camps for your children, that's if you decide to send them to summer camp.  Summer camp has many benefits: helping children find and make new friends, continuing to help them stay on a good schedule, giving them an oppportunity to learn new skills or perfect their old ones.  It can also help them to stay active both physically and mentally.  There are so many different options to choose from when picking a summer camp.  There are swimming camps, horsebackriding camps, dance camps, soccer camps, softball camps, tennis camps, sleepover camps and sailing camps, to name a few.

It is important for parents to think about what activity your child will enjoy and then start researching the many different summer camps.  My older daughter enjoys softball and I am signing her up for a softball camp.  My younger one loves ballet and I am going to enroll her in a dance camp.  The great thing about summer camp is, you can customize the days and hours to fit your schedule and budget.

Most summer camps offer the option to send your child one, two, three, four or five days.  If your child is older they might enjoy sleepover camp.  Summer camps also offer different hours such as: 9 to 12, 12 to 3, or 9 to 3.  If you are a working mom they also offer early and late pick-up, that costs a little more. Early drop-off can be as early as 7am and late pick-up as late as 6pm.  If none of these times suit you, you can speak to the camp director about your specific needs and for unusual circumstances arrangements can be made to make things a little more convenient for you.

Summer camp can be so fun for kids and a lasting memory.  It can also help ease your mind knowing your child is continuing to stay active.  Being home for the whole summer with nothing to do can drive a kid crazy and you too.  It is hard for a mom to keep your children constantly mentally and physically stimulated all summer long!  It is best to get a head start on finding a summer camp that suits you and your children the good ones fill up fast!
