Green Cupcakes and a Pinkalicious Cake

Happy St. Patrick's Day! We had a big double celebration. It's also my daughter's birthday. I can't even believe she's six today. I always say at least she will always have a party to go to on her birthday. We made green cupcakes for her class at school and then I made her a special Pinkalicious birthday cake. Strawberry cake with pink frosting for my Pinkerbelle. Pinkalicious is one of her favorite books so she LOVED it. We had a mix of St. Patty's Day and birthday decorations. It was festive and fun.

She brought home a book called "When I was a Baby" by Linda Endo and had a girl who showed the shoes she wore when she was a baby, the books she read when she was a baby, the clothes she wore when she was a baby and then a picture of her each year. It inspired me to do the same. What a great idea for a keepsake. New thing to add to my list. I'm going to find a couple of her favorite baby books, I have a cloth book about bugs and one about ocean animals that was her first book that she loved, shoes, socks, and a couple my favorite baby clothes, I still have some in storage bins, and put together a collage of each year.

One of the really exciting things is that now she is reading many of the books that I used to read to her, to me!  She's so amazing and she makes me smile everyday. I remember the feeling of overwhelming love I felt toward her instantly when I first had her, and that hasn't changed. I love her more than words can say. We have a bedtime thing, I tell her I love her lotsa lotsa and she tells me she loves me pizza pizza. I tell her I love her pizza pizza too.
